PRIVATE STUDIO INSTRUCTION

Viola Lessons

Private lessons with focused, individualized instruction are vital to viola students at all stages. Our drive is to provide exceptional musical training that equips each student with the technical and expressive tools to accomplish his or her distinct artistic aspirations.

Viola instruction is based specifically on pedagogical studies with long-term mentor Sally O'Reilly as well as teacher training for all levels of the Suzuki method and is designed to support and inspire beginning, intermediate, and advanced students of all ages. Key components of viola lessons include development of intonation, tone, listening and ear-training, rhythm, note-reading, healthy posture, and musicality while advancing through solo repertoire. Chamber music and ensemble coaching is also offered.

Recitals are offered seasonally throughout the year, and participation is not mandatory but is encouraged! Both an enjoyable and valuable experience, recitals provide the opportunity for students to grow as performers, gaining a deeper connection to their music while sharing it with audiences.
